SAFETY SAVES…YOU MONEY!!!

NEXT SEMINAR DATE – APRIL 19th  Bowling Green Council Office!!!

FREE!!!

On March 31 and April 1st the Safety Division offered Working With OSHA, A Safety Program Can Make Me Money?, and Understanding and Controlling Your Experience Mod Rating.  These seminars helped companies understand how Kentucky OSH operates and how to avoid costly fines, what causes Workers Compensation premiums to rise, and steps you can take to reduce those costs.

KEY POINTS

·        Partnership programs will give members access to Ky OSH training, education, and consultation resources and will provide ways for members to be excluded from audits.

·        Work Comp companies have free programs such as Loss Control Audits available to help members reduce premiums.

·        A Safety Program must be implemented from the top down and lead by example from Management.  It must incorporate accountability at all levels.

·        Develop and implement a Return to Work Policy to reduce cost impact of claims.

·        Develop and implement an incentive program that rewards employees for following safety guidelines.

·        Designate and develop a relationship with occupational physician offices near job site where employees will receive treatment for work place injuries.

·        Accompany employees to physician offices and aggressively manage claims to ensure employees are following physician recommendations.
