COMMITTEES 
AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
Promotes the merit shop, the association and ABC members to construction users, architects/engineers and the general public in an effort to increase the market share of the merit shop construction industry. The activities of this committee focus on the annual Awards of Excellence competition and awards banquet. (chapter level)

BUDGET & FINANCE
Responsible for monitoring the chapter’s financial position and presenting a monthly financial report to the board of directors; preparing an annual budget and overseeing an annual audit or review of the chapter’s finances. (chapter level)

KCEF TRUSTEES
Develops, delivers apprenticeship and monitors craft training programs to fulfill the training needs of member firms and their employees. (council level)

LEGISLATIVE / PAC
Educates and informs members about local, state and national legislation and politics and gets them pro-actively involved in the legislative and political processes. This committee is responsible for the chapter’s lobbying efforts and political action activities (candidate selection and support). (chapter & council levels)

MARKETING
The goal of this committee is to build awareness and appreciation for the ABC “brand;” to attract new members to ABC; to improve awareness of ABC member benefits and raise the profile of the association among key audiences. The committee will, also, advise the association on the latest and best means of communications and technology to implement in order to more effectively inform an involve the members. (chapter level)

MEETINGS & EVENTS
This committee meets regularly to discuss, develop and promote various meetings, events and programs for the local area ABC membership. (council level)

MEMBERSHIP
Works with local council staff to develop prospective member lists and means and methods for recruiting new members. (council level)

MEMBER SERVICES
Will regularly review current member services and “audition” potential new ones to assure that our members are receiving the best possible ROI for their dues dollars. (chapter level)

SAFETY / REGULATORY
Provides information, training and other programs to help members make their jobsites safer and to assist them in complying with local, state and federal government regulations. Typical training offered includes First Aid/CPR, OSHA 10 Hour, Hazmat, Bloodborne Pathogens, Confined Space Entry, etc. (chapter level)
